Geez.. Scott, I wasn't doubting your response. I took it as something to
remember-- honestly. About the number of foward/reverse gears if the
engine was
running backwards was a joke... Lighten up.. About the 'dieseling', my
dad had
a piece of junk Ford Ranchero 500 years ago, and it did a complete run-on
after
the engine was shut off (forward or backward, I dunno--never thought about
it)...
The steering wheel/transmission selector was broken, and I was able to put
it
in gear and drove it about 2 blocks... Not too good for the car, but fun to
try..
heck I was a kid (16 years old). It is a weird phenom-on (can't spell
today)...
My jetski had it happen, and we had to drowned it to shut the engine off
(full throttle RPM with the fuel line pulled, NO plug wires (we pulled them
off),
and pushing the STOP buttong frantically).
