        ACTUALLY, the rating above was for a long bed (5 spd, 3.90, etc. V8),
and not the short bed. The club cab was rated at 6700#, which for '96 was
up-ed
400# for all V8 models (so Club cab was 7100#, and Long Bed was 7500#).
The
short bed was less than the club cab, though I don't recall the number off
hand,
but I do know it was less. All numbers were for the 5 speed, the automatic
was
400# less than the 5 speed across the board. The club cab and long bed
had a GVWR of 10500# (4x2 and 4x4)... The short bed V8 was 9500#...
With my truck weighing in at 4200#, that leaves me with 6300# max towing
before I exceed the GVWR...So anything rating over 6300# is worthless to
me.

        Just thought I would point that out.
