I don't think they put anything on the frame to preserve it. I know my 93
started to rust right off the bat so I oiled the under side of the truck,
same as all my vehicles, about twice a year. I try to not drive the truck in
the crappy winter weather and if I do I bring it in and pressure wash it
including under side when I get home.
