The crimp ring is a replaceable part too; and I don't believe him.
The labor I refer too is to uncrimp, swap tanks and O-ring, and re-crimp.
If he can get a $100 marking up the part, and just hand it over the
counter, he's ahead of paying a worker for 3 hours (or less) of work.
It might also take him awhile to get the parts in to do the job, while
a distributor nearby has the radiator in stock...
I would seek out a second opinion.
