Hello Dakota Fans,
I'm new to the mailing list...so my questions may seem redundant and I =
apologize.

About Me:
I'm a GM mechanic turned computer programmer. I turned wrenches for =
Chevrolet for about five years before changing my career. My specialty =
was fuel injection and ignition systems. I was also formally into car =
restoration and did a '63 Vette and a '68 Big Block Camaro. The Vette =
was a buddies and the Camaro was sold for tuition(bummer). I also helped =
my uncle race a 440 GTX (Holley 6-pack, what a pain to tune) for a while =
(In case you were wondering if I'm a GM trader)
When the new 97 Dakotas came out I couldn't resist...The S-10 I was =
driving (a 2.8) didn't quite measure up to balls I was used to in the =
past.

This is what I got:
97 Dakota 4X4, 5.2 Auto, 3.55 Club Cab.=20

Here are some questions:
I've been reading some of the mods that you all have been performing to =
you '97 Dakotas and was wondering where the best source is for the =
components is(Like the throttle body stuff, headers and such)? =20

Mopar seems to have been ignoring my requests for a Performance =
Catalog...any suggestions?

What seems to be the best aftermarket add on for you all?

I noticed that Paxton has a supercharger kit for the earlier model =
Dakotas, so I assume that they will release one for the 97-98's. =
Anybody out there have one installed?

Problems that I have had with my 97:
Exhaust has a bad tone under part-throttle conditions...almost like a =
sputter.
Shuttering braking from high speeds (like warped rotors).
Slight body shake around 80 mph or so.
Hesitation/bog on accell on second gear shift

If you have had any of these problems and let me know, I more curious =
than anything else.
Any sources of information would be greatly appreciated........
