} I want to get the widdest posible tires withough any trouble on my
} truck, I have 215-65-15 on back right now and the stock 195-75-15 on the
} front on a 94 dakota, I want the best traction posible in sand and
} snow... I bought the back tires not long ago since the back set went
} bald on me, I have a heavy foot. My girlfriends father has a 91 4x4
} with 235-75-15 on with no trouble but its a 4x4 so I'm not sure on the
} size I can use...
}
} ps-I have the stock rims :-(

215/75s were also standard on 2WD models and will fit fine. 235/75s
will hit the frame at full steering lock. Somepeople use 235/75s
anyway, but I'm not going to try it. The Dunlop LT rated 235/75s have
very square shoulders and will rub hard. Michelin LTX tires are rounder
and will have more clearance (but still won't clear). 225/70 is ok, the
Shelby's came with this size. 235/70 is really close, most tires will
probably just skim the frame at full lock, but there are large
variations from one tire model to the next. 245/60 is fine, but much
smaller diameter. 255/60 is close, most people say it is fine. It is
slightly smaller diameter than the 215/75, it may be close to stock
diameter for you.
