A billet grill is an aluminum grill replacement. It is machined out of a
solid piece of aluminum as opposed to being cast. For the Dakotas, most
grill manufacturers make an insert that you can replace your factory grill
with. It's just for cosmetic reasons and has no functional ability. For
some trucks, you can replace the entire grill with a new billet aluminum
grill, but for the Dak's, just inserts are available (at least from what i've
seen). My $.02.
