        Yes you do need them plugged in Bob,

        Take the cover off of the power center and turn it over and
there is a chart inside the lid that gives the numerical placements of
each relay. Plug them in the numbers on the paper with the relays. If
you don't, you will not have a lights/brakes on your trailer, the
relays activate the trailer plug.
