Some of the older model computers (I want to say pre-1996 but that may be
wrong) were slow to respond to changes in the setup so disconnecting them
to reset them and starting over was the fastest way (I wonder where they
got that 5 tankfuls business?). The newer computers respond to changes
much quicker so resetting is not necessary.
