Most of these entities have seriously considered airbags at one point, that
should tell you something right there. Currently F-1 is still considering
them but if you've ever seen the size of an F-1 cockpit, you'll understand
why there's hesitation. Also in F-1 and CART the most serious concern is
lateral head movement, something an airbag wont help much with.
