I have ran my 92 CC with and without. I don't see any mileage change, but I
have a big Leer Topper so my mileage sucks all the time. As to noise, I don't
have any rubbing noises (mines held onto the underturned hood lip with
screws), however, I do notice that there is a lot more air turbulance. This
makes riding at highway speed with the windows down unpleasant with the
deflector.
I'll never take mine off again, though. I Bought my truck with 24000 miles,
and it was spotless. I drove it without the deflector for 1 month, and I got
a big spider crack in the window from a small stone. Also, my windshield
stays amazingly clean.
