Whoah, buddies! This can mislead many people. This is true of most GM
and older chrysler ignition systems. However, design changes to the
electronic ignition now use a crank trigger to tell the coil when to
fire the spark via the module/smec. Changing the position of the
distributor on this type of system DOES NOT change the timing at all!
Be careful, read a service manual for your vehicle before changing the
