Just got back from the San Diego Auto Show. Highlights - seeing the
Durango in more colors than Chili Pepper Red, and the new Concorde,
with the Jaguaresque front grille. Also, a friend of mine has his
Mercedes 300SL Roadster on display for the SD Auto Museum, and there's
an old 1916 Merkel motorcycle that the owner-doughboy had stored
behind a false wall in his parents house; the bike stayed there until
the house was to be demolished for a freeway in 1970.
But back to the subject line, The Mercedes M320 - the tri-star SUV -
has a belt-driven, fluid clutch fan behind the radiator, and two
electric fans in front. Overkill?
The new Concorde and Intrepid use a coil-on-plug ignition system on
their V-6s -- I want to put them on my Dak! [Gotta build a control
computer to fire them, but...imagine no distributor...]
