The 340 came with a 727.The 318 came with a 904.The 360 2 bbl came with a 999
a heavy duty 904.The torqueflite is a really well designed unit and has been
around in 1 form or another since 1956.Many dragracers use a beefed 904 for
racing because
it takes less horsepower away from the engine.Besides we like the A500 because
it
has that nice first gear 2:74.The A518 doesn,t have it. I have run a A500 for
120,00
miles behind a mild 318 and never had a problem.The transgo shift kit is a
good kit]
but it does have some problems.Mine won,t upshift under WOT without backing
off
the kickdown.We are going to change back to the stock throttle valve spring
and see
what happens.let you know.
