Repair updates.....was Re: Lemon Law Information - TxDOT

that my frustrations were mostly directed at CC for a lack of rigid QA process
and not so much with the dealers ship except for their lack of speed in
repairing my truck once it is in their procession. Everything I have taken the
truck in for, so far and I will talk about that in a minute, have been for
problems that were not dealer service related. The heater core was installed and
there are no leaks, or funny smells.
Now for today's rant. I picked up the truck at about 8pm on Wednesday night,
and as I'm sure you will imagine, it was quite dark and I was unable to get a
good look at the truck before I drove it home. Good news, there are no scratches
or dents in the paint or sheet metal. Bad news, the interior looks like crap.
There is still anti freeze residue on the windshield above the defrost vents.
There are greasy finger prints on the dash around the passenger vent. On the
gauge bezel, left hand side, the rubber gasket is in front of the bezel, instead
of behind it as it is the right hand side. And, the pointer for the gear
selector in the dash no longer lines up with the marks on the dash panel. I had
also asked that they replace the screws holding the rear drivers side wheel
flair, which they remounted during the first return, as the holes were stripped
and the screws were loose. This I have not checked, but I doubt they were
replaced with larger screws. The thing that makes me most upset is that I asked
the service writer to go over the truck and make sure everything was done
correctly. My reason for this was that I found the two bolts for the
intermediate shaft on the last repair, left on the hood cowl, under the hood.
Obviously, this was not done as I noticed all of these problems the next morning
while driving to work. I only live 3 miles from work, so I did not have that
long to look, although I have not found anything else since then.
I will be taking the truck in at lunch today to show the service writer, and
hopefully the dealership manager, these items and to chew their ass. I'm sure
the manager would like to know in advance of the response I will be giving on my
next service survey. They are currently a 5 Star dealership, and I'm sure he
would like do something to keep that rating.
So, that's today's story. Maybe I'm just a jerk and expect too much from
other people, then again, maybe I'm correct in thinking my $25,000.00 truck
should be on the road more than in the shop and when it is in the shop, it is
repaired correctly and quickly.
