The effects of syn oil may not be obvious to you but think about this: Where
is most of the heat in your oil generated? If you guesses the point at which
your pushrods contact the rocker arms, and crank/cam bearings, you are right.
This is why so many engines are converting over to dual cams. The temperature
at this point can exceed 600 degrees F, or possibly more in heavy duty
applications, Here is where synthetic oil benefits you. Regular oil breaks
down under these tempertures, there fore cancelling out it's lubricating , and
heat removing properties. Synthetis oil does not break down under there
extreme temperatures, it also more effectivcely removes the heat from these
hot spots, therefore reducing the overall temperature of your oil. So if you
race, tow, or are generally hard on your vehicle, synthetic oil is for you.
In normal conservatice driving, regular oil will do.
