(3-9-97) for servicing and reported this to the service manager, he said
it was caused by a slip joint in the steering column, because the truck
is a body on frame type, the steering wheel is mounted on the body and
the steering gear and transmission are mounted to the frame it has to
have this joint to allow for movement. He also said it seems to occur in
about ten out fifty trucks, and doesn't seem to cause any other
problems. Mine follows no discernible pattern, it seems to do it when it
feels like it.
