I guess maybe I'm not as cool/smart/clever as I thought I was! I have
ordered the workshop manual which will hopefully help. I have recently
installed an after market remote engine starter, which for a while
worked. It worked on locking the doors three times in 8 seconds or less.
For some reason this would occasionally set off the factory alarm -
somewhat embarassing! Anyway, I found if I unlocked the trcuk, then
locked it 3 times the truck would start. Now it doesn't. But that's not
really my big concern.
After I had played, but before it wouldn't start, when I turned off the
truck, there would be a buzzing noise for a couple of seconds. Sometimes
longer. I traced this to a green relay in the fuse box. I have now
disconnected the starter, but I still get this buzzing noise from the
relay - on occasion it's happened so long that I've taken the relay out.
If I turn the ignition on, or the accessories, it stops. If I hold the
starter on after the engine has fired it will do the same thing. Does
anybody have any idea why this is happening?
