Yes, I bought my 98 in December & currently have 6200 miles on it. I've
had this problem from the start and now I'm like Pavlov's dogs. Every
time I go to touch something metal I hesitate and draw back expecting to
get zapped.

(Okay, so I'm more like Bart Simpson, the time Lisa was experimenting on
him, than a drooling dog.)

I've never had a passenger complain about this. As a fix, grab hold of
the metal door frame and hold on as you step out (something I've noticed
all my passengers do). This grounds you without a shock.

I've also noticed this problem in two other trucks I've been a frequent
passenger in, a '95 Ford F150, and a '94 Ram, both with 4wd and power
everything. I believe it has more to do with a natural static charge
build up than any sort of defect. But I've been known to be wrong (and
to drool).

My 98 Dak tries to electrocute me every time I get out and touch
the
door to close it. Anyone else having this problem? Joe
