straight steering wheels

I make my ASE certified technicians redo the alignment until the
steering wheel is STRAIGHT! I wouldn't want mine crooked and dont
expect my customer to have to "live with it". If the job is done
properly and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the equipment, the
wheel should be straight. If it's still crooked, we swap the front
tires in case there is a radial tire pull that the customer is counter
steering for thus the wheel being crooked.
Bottom line- if you just paid $50+ for an alignment, dont let someone
tell you to live with it, get your money back and find someone else or
tell them to fix it.
To the Saturn mechanic, sorry man, but this is real world here and as
the G.M. of a repair shop, I expect nothing but the best from my
mechanics. I've never had one guy bitch at me for redoing an alignment,
and that's because when we're done, its straight, and that is one of the
few things a customer judges our alignment by, and that is what our
reputation upholds. And that is also why people come back to me and say
that I'm the only one that could get their steering wheel straight.
