Wheel adapters, bad idea. Gives up strength.
Most reputable rim manufacturers will drill out the rim of your choice for a
few extra bucks. I had Centerline drill my Hellcats out for my 97 Dak
(profile on Graphics Page).
If the rims you like aren't available, even custom drilled, as a last resort
you may want to replace the disc setup etc. with another pattern, but you'll
probably have more difficulty finding replacements that finding rims to fit
your existing setup.
