>From what I remember, Ford did a recall on it's trucks becuase of the
same paint problem we are all having. They did the recall in the early 90's
(I remember cuz' my Driver's Ed teacher was bitchin' about it). Wish
another certain company would use that kind of common sense. Chrysler
is really stingy when it comes to recalls. I' read a nit on how they EPA
are NHTSA and all them have to fight with ChryCo forever to get a recall
out of them for things like Minivan rear doors that open suddenly, or leaky
gas tanks. I think ChryCO makes the best stuff, but I wish they would
bakck it up a little better ya' know?

so they painted it again. >
I have never seen a dealer body shop that exhibited much more common
sense than this, which is why Joe auto body does a better job if you
pay enough they will strip the car and properly prep it.
speaking of, this isn't just a Dodge problem chevy and ford both have
similar problems(although theirs don't seem as bad and seem to have
been mostly fixed)

< I have always been told that factory paint jobs are better than
what Joe auto body guy can do. I don't think so Tim.>
factory paint has the *potential* to be better, they use robots which
allows a cool electrostatic gun to be used . they ground the car (or
the gun, can't remember which) and the paint shoots out charged to a
high voltage. literly sucks to the car- very cool this prevents
overyspray which keeps the EPA happy with manufactureres and
prevents
paint from drying in the air and slowly sttling to the car OSHA
regulations won't allow this with humans. I think the majority of
paint problems are based/blamed on either primer or new paints-EPA
