I have bought the Pioneer DEH-P85DHR AM FM CD head unit to go in my new dak when
it arrives. I know one other DML member has one also. The unit is specially
designed to custom fit in a GM or CC dash opening so no adaptor is needed to make
it look good, and the display is large, bright and colorful. The radio has
unique features too numerious to list here but Ill highlight important ones.
High power output-36 watts per channel x 4. (try the internal amp before you buy
external amps except for the sub, it may surprise you how powerful it is. 6 RCA
outputs for external amps- left and right front and rear and left and right sub
woofer. Built in sub woofer crossover at 50, 80, and 120 hz. 12 level settings
for the sub.Front immage enhancer to keep frequencies above 500 hz out of rear
speakers so the stereo image is not disturbed. Unit is also a cd changer
controller. Unit has wireless remote control ( not of as much value in a pickup
as in a car or van IMHO). Unit has a detachable front for security and a built
in alarm system with starter disable and remote disarm. (does as much as some
expensive alarm systems do). The tuner even lets you select the type of music
you want to hear and searches for them even as you drive is unfamiliar areas.
This is an incredable radio tnat must have fetures no other has. SURE will be
GLAD when my new dak comes in so Ill have a place to put this radio besides the
shelf over my computer!!!!!
PS you should be able to put the stock radio back in if you dont cut up your
wiring!
