Very interested. Sorry, you'll have to treat me like the village idiot here - "floor register"??

Thanks,

Tate

Tate,
I did it tonight. Removed the air box from the truck and disconnected
the intake pipe. Then I cut the intake pipe right before the flex joint
where
it enters the box (leaving the flex joint). Bought a 4" intake hose from

Pep Boys auto parts and attached that to the cut end of the air box
intake (everything still out of the truck). I then trimmed (Don't laugh
it worked) a 4" floor register so only about 2" of the rectangular part
was left connected to the 4" round part. Then I bent it like a piece
of origami to get it beside the radiator and partially past the rubber
splash boot. Once this was in I flared it back into shape. After this
was done I trimmed the rubber splash guard to fit the opening and
connected the 4" intake hose to the round part of the intake flange next
to the radiator (At this point the intake pipe is still not attached to the
air box). Last step was just putting back the air box while slipping the
intake pipe in. All in all it took about 2 hours $20 and a couple of
sliced fingers. Now when you open up the hood you see about a
6" flared hole to the left of the radiator that reduces down to a 4" pipe.

I painted it black and you barely even notice it.
