Well, I said I would tell the difference between my stock SBEC and the MP
SBEC. Wish I could, but it never showed up. Finally got it today. First,
the races. On my first qualifying pass I ran a 15.14 at 90.10, but had a
little trouble getting into fourth gear. Previously my best pass was a 15.09
at 91.88 Close. Second pass felt real good. Got my time slip, and was
pleasantly surprised to see a 14.97 at 91.82!!!! Finally ran a 14!!!!!! I
was so happy, that I redlit in the first round, and wasted a win, cause the
other guy broke out!! Damn! Anyways, for those of you that dont know, my
truck is a 96 regular cab, 5.2, 5speed, 3.55 open rear end,a Gibson cat back,
K&N FIPK, and MSD wires. Thats it. No other mods, until today. I just
finished installing the MP SBEC. First thing I noticed was the truck started
easier. Then I noticed better throttle response, seemed the idle was a little
rougher. From the fuel curve??? I cant really tell by my butt if it pulls
harder at slower speeds, but I definetly noticed its quicker from say 60-90mph
on the freeway. Guess I will let it "break in". I a m most liekly gonna run
the truck Wednesday night at the grudge matches. I will post times after
that. How much should I expect from the MP SBEC? 2 or 3 tenths is what I
have been hearing. Wow, if it runs 14.7's I would be stoked!!!!! Then I'll
have to get headers and finally a LSD for the rear, IF LANCE EVER TELLS ME HOW
MUCH HE WANTS!!!!!!!! Lance? You alive buddy? What does that traclock you
have fit? I think 97 and later are different from the 96 and earlier. PLEASE
LANCE LET ME KNOW! I will be in your area May 15-17. Sorry for the long
post.
