I don't know, I've seen someone who put an A-500 into a 48 Plymouth street
rod. He said he bought it from Mopar Performance and it came with
instructions to wire up the overdrive switch. Eventually, when I do my motor
swap, I plan on eliminating the computer also and I don't want to bolt my
existing A-500 up to a 360. When I get around to doing this project, the
truck will be more of a weekend toy so I'm not to worried about emissions and
such.

The A-518 in my 93 is cable operated shifting except for the OD which is
electrical controlled by the computer . The RE/RH I believe has more
electrical controll. I don't know if there is a way to operate the OD with out
the computer ??
