Any Mopar drag racer knows there is approximately 25 horsepower difference
between the 904 and the 727.I,m sure these figures translate into the 46RE
(904)
and the 47 RE or RH (727).Thats the reason many serious small block class
racers
prefer the built 904 over the 727.Hence the difference between the R/T and the
auto 318 is not that big.Somebody else can explain it more technically.But it
comes down to loss in the big tranny is more.I prefer the A 500 (46 RE)
because of this and the low gear set on first.
