I am going to throw this one out to you guys. I have been getting about
10 MPG in the city with my truck. I am getting about 13 MPG or so on
the highway. The truck has about 2200 miles on it. I don't think this
is normal. Gary mentioned to me that he is getting a little over 13, I
would die for 13 MPG in the city. I don't think it is a heavy foot,
even when I watch myself real closely, the MPG doesn't seem to change.
Any help, or suggestions would help. Also, if anyone has had a similar
problem please fill me in on the solution.
This is what my truck has......
98 SLT+
Ext Cab
4X4
5.2L
3.92
Sure Grip
HD Service
No Engine Mod's at all........Yet.......
and all the other goodies, but I don't think power windows and an alarm
would change MPG. Also the overhead computer seems pretty accurate. I
double check when I fill up. If the computer says that I am getting 10
MPG, I check to see what the trip odometer says (150 miles), then I
check and see how much I can squeeze into the tank (15 Gal). That would
sound right, that is unless I do math like I spell.
I also have a fiberglass cover, and I am getting the same mileage with
it, that I was without it. Does that sound right to anyone.
