  It sure wouldn't hurt... It wouldn't help as much as an open element
filter or a ram-air though. Its up to you of course, but if it were me,
I'd save the money you'd spend on the drop in and get an open element. They
can be built much cheaper than K&N's FIPK setup by using a "no-name" can
with a K&N filter.
   My '96 has an open element and the MP PCM (SBEC/JTEC); it depends on the
gear I'm in when I go to pass, but I get a nice kick in the back and have no
problems ripping around people. (I hate when people creep along in the passing
lane.) I like to spend as little time as possible in that lane; most passes
take only a few seconds, and I'm usually doing 90 or so when I move back into
the driving lane. Mostly for safety, but partly to humiliate the poor schmuck.
