Crash Tests

The recent crash test of the Dak were to say the least surprising. I know
that many people dont believe the tests mean anything but you'd have to
admit its an interesting comparison between the those five trucks. Our Daks
are much larger than the Nissans yet both performed equally poorly in that
test. I hate to say it but that makes me wonder a bit. Not that I'd ever
get rid of my Dak, there's nothing else I'd want to drive. Guess I'll just
have to steer clear of any large concrete blocks laying in the roadway.
Anyhow I believe these tests were done my some insurance institute and I
dont know if they are affiliated with consumer reports as someone mentioned
previously. Its strange though that sevaral months ago they did the exact
same tests with SUV's and the Chevy Blazer (S-10 size) came out the worst.
It has such a bad rating that they said the passenger had a certainty of
serious injury and distinct possibilty of death!!! Yet in this test thier
truck fared considerably better. I know they're not the same vehicle but is
there that much of a difference? Finally, not that anyone on this list
would ever be caught driving a VW Beetle, the new VW was recently tested
under the same crash conditions and it was the only vehicle in that test
where the occupant was likely to sustaion NO injuries at all!!
If a company can make a VW Beetle where no one is injured in a test crash
its hard to believe that Dodge,Ferd and Chebby cant do the same with a
truck thats twice the size. I know we all love our Daks but we shouldn't
let CC off the hook so easily. Just about everyone on this list paid way
more for their Dak than Beetle goes for so cost cant be that much of a
consideration for the manufacturers.
