I don't know exactly what you want to carry, but I might be able to help
you out a little. I have a mountain bike rack that fits into the 2 inch
receiver on my truck. I know that there are some companies that make
more of a generic type carrier (read "cargo"), as apposed to just bikes.
My rack is made by a company called THULE. It is the best mountain
bike rack that I have seen. I know that they make alot of cargo
carriers for the tops of cars, so you might want to give them a ring.
Check out there web-site http://www.thule.com/english/. The rack I have
is not listed on the web site, but you can get a catalog from them.

If you have any questions let me know. Also I have a friend that is a
THULE dealer, so I can tell you if you are getting a good price.

Yup the pre 97 Daks. But it was my die hard (cheap ass) brother-in-law's
choice, I have a 97. Anyhow looking for recommendations on a roof top
carrier for the pre 97. So much gear and not enough storage space.
(inflatable zodiac and motor in the box.) Thx all, Don
