Brings back a memory. I had a 69 Dart Swinger 340 and yes a 4 speed and raced
this guy with a 69? Camaro 396 -375 HP and whipped the tar outa him about 10
times one night (both on street tires) He said I'll be back and about a week
later showed up after a super tune and with slicks. I had just put on a new
set of tires the night before and had not come out of the whole with them. He
leaped out ahead but didn't pull after that, made one run and I wanted another
chance but he said something wasn't right and the engine was knocking. Last
run for that car, they had the carb off tuning and dropped a nut in the
manifold, destroyed the engine, the guy went to a full race built 302.
