Upside: Reduced operating temp which helps reduce the chance of
predetonation. The JTEC reads the lower operating temp. and increases fuel
flow slightly. Possibly even providing a ft-lb or two increase in power.

Downside: Reduced operating temperature. This only really affects your
heat in the cold months. Probably not even enuf to notice.

The difference in operating temp is clearly visible on the guage. I
installed a 180 degree stat yesterday and even in the 80+ degree weather it
ran noticably cooler.
