Man, that really makes a Mobile 1 oil change look like a cheap way to gain HP. I wonder why the 1.7 Roller Rockers didn't make more of a HP improvement?

For anyone that cares, there is a tech article in the June '98 issue of
MiniTruckin' that talks about the installation of Crower 1.7 stainless steel
roller rockers (Part #73656K), Mopar Performance springs (M.P. Part
#P5249464), and retainers (M.P. Part #P4452032) written by our good
friend Lance Martz and using his '97 Dak as the guinea pig.

The installation actually doesn't look incredibly difficult, but you do have
to "modify" the oil baffles on the inside of the valve covers for clearance.
They did this by hammering the crest of the baffle down ~0.25" with a
ball-peen hammer.

I don't know what other mods were in place at the time, but the results
went something like this.

rpm HP gain T gain
1500 9.7 7.9
2000 -1.3 -1.0
2500 0.7 4.8
3000 2.5 6.0
3500 -2.0 -0.2
4000 5.6 10.6
4500 10.6 7.3
5000 8.7 16.8

Just a little FYI.
