<< Well, just got back from Cecil Cty. Dragway and I'm very pleased with the
results. The M&Hs sure did the trick. Here's the best out of five passes:
 60' .... 2.078sec , 1/8mi. ... 9.361 @ 73.30mph , 1000' ...
 12.254sec. , 1/4mi. ... 14.705 @ 91.71mph

Observations & Notes: The R/T currently has about 1100 mi. on the odometer.
Modifications have been a K&N Filtercharger (drop in) , synthetic motor oil
and the most noteworthy; the M&H 255/55/15 street legal drag tires with the
D705 compound (softest avail. from M&H). These tires really hook it up. My
60'
times alone dropped over .2sec. from my last outing at Cecil. These tires
mounted on 15''x8'' Dakota/Durango factory aluminum wheels are about 2''
shorter and about a 1/2'' narrower tread width. The shortness of the tires
gave me a needed lower effective final drive ratio. With the stock tire/rim
setup (255/55/17 G.Y. Eagles) it was going thru the traps at a leisurely 4400
-4500 rpm, now it's about 4800 rpm. The best pass of the day came after the
truck had about an hour and a half cool down period with coolant temp. being
at about 150deg. at the starting line. The next best pass was a 14.818 @
 91.18mph w/ a 2.098 60' on a warm/hot motor. If anybody would want to see
the
slips I'd be more than happy to scan and send them to ya.

I left out on my above prior post on what i think was an important factor.
When switching from the stock tire/wheel combo to the drag tire/wheel combo
yesterday for some trial laps around the streets I decided to weigh the tires
and wheels on a bathroom scale. Each stock tire/rim weighed in at a whopping
59lbs, but the M&Hs on the 15''x8inchers weighed in at only 38lbs. each. This
is a total of 42 lbs less of reciprocating weight! Also the spare was removed
today for a total of over 100lbs less overall race weight.
