Sounds normal to me. At part throttle (when you're starting to get on
it), mine makes more like what I would describe as a shrieking sound -
much more obnoxious than a little whistle. That roar at full throttle is
awesome, though.

I decided I can live with the noise for the time being to get the
increased performance. Eventually, I plan to change over to a fresh air
setup, which will probably get rid of the shrieking. Just have to get
back in the mood to tinker...
