I'd rather not spring for a realignment after this, just to set the toe.
Please give me some ideas on how to set the toe in my driveway and get it
close. I know all that about counting the turns on the shafts when removing,
but this only works when the replacement part is 'exactly' identical to the
old part, and I don't trust it, I'd like to measure it somehow.

Take a Tape measure and a marker. ( perferably white ) When starting the
project make a mark on both of the front tires one on the front inner side,
and the rear inner side of each 1/2 way up the tire ( one mark on the front
and one mark on the back). Center and Lock the steering wheel so it doesnt
move. This is best done by leaving the column unlocked and " tying down "
steering wheel with a steering wheel lock tool or the more rudamentary two
bungee cords ( tight!!! )Now make a measurement from the front of the tires
and write it down, then make a measurement to the rear and write it down.
NEVER MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL!!!! Now when installing the R&P reameasure to
the marks afront and rear and you should be very close.
Just my opinion
