Well, we finally did it! We finally found, and PURCHASED a 1998 Dodge
Dakota R/T! Thanks to all who assisted in our search. Steve Das, thanks
especially for the info on area Mopar dealers.
We took a leisurly drive to Angleton, Texas, and stopped by Ragland Dodge
this afternoon. We asked Elaine, sales lady who waited on us, if they
had any R/T's, expecting to hear the same old "Well we had one
yesterday", or something like that. Instead, she said "Sure, but they
were JUST pulled off the truck, so they haven't been prepped yet." She
took us to them, two red CCs. After test driving one, we discussed her
trading it for one of another color, but settled on the red one (they
wanted $150 for transportation, if they found one of another color).
We got it for sticker, at least they didn't gouge us for any 'dealer
profit', other than what they are already making for the truck. We are
trading one of the Jeeps from our fleet (g), and they are probably
stealing that from us, but hey, we don't have to worry about selling it.
We got it for $24k +change. We will take delivery Monday afternoon. Let
the mods begin!! A Dak R/T is capable of high 14's with just a K&N and
some traction assistance. Can't wait to do the TB mods.
By the way, in case anyone else is interested, as of 7 p.m Friday, they
STILL had the other red one left. It is also $24k +change. LMK if you
