Don't know if this will work for everyone, but.... I just removed the
decals on my 97 Sport CC, bought last July. The decal part came off
without much trouble, 88 degrees here when I did it, but the adhesive,
well.... I tried using WD40, then some rubbing compound. An hour later
I had the Dakota Sport off the passenger door. :( Then I tried some
Meguiar's Body Scrub. Using that I was able to get the drivers side
decals and the Dodge on the tailgate off in less than an hour. I found
that using just a back and forth motion worked best with an occasional
removing of adhesive from my cleaning cloth. The decal area was smooth
and clean with no shadows that I could see. But then I don't park my
truck out in the sun much either. I didn't have any swirls to start
with so I don't know how this would affect those that do. =20

However, there was one downside to this method. I found it was a three
beer job on the first decal, and only a one beer job on the other two!
