When I did mine, a 2x4 on the jack was fine against the floor boards but be
careful not to push too hard with the jack. Use a 2x4 that is about 15" long
to distribute the weight across a wider area of the floor. As far as the
lower hose goes, I don't think it was a matter of replacing but more of an
issue with it clearing the fan. I have seen two people who did it. One used
an electric fan and the other plumbed in a couple of 90 degree PVC elbows to
route around the fan. Use the link below to go to my web page and click on
the link for "V8 Swap and Lifting" That has info on what I encountered when I
did mine.

I'm planning on doing a 3" body lift this weekend for my truck and have a
few questions for anyone who has done one before. Where should i actually
put the jack to lift up the body where is the best place to put it? Are
the floorboards strong enough to just jack up with a 2x4 between the jack
and the metal or should i do it in another place? Also since i have the
V8 i need to replace the lower radiator hose does anyone know what
diamater it is?

Thanks for any help,
