Jack,
My 98 2WD CC 5-speed makes a clunk sound whenever I hit a bump or decelerate.
You can feel it through the steering. I have been to the dealer and they say
a TSB will be out mid summer. I think it is the intermediate shaft binding on
the steering column when the body moves in relationship to the frame.
I suggest you take it to the dealer to check it out.
There is already a TSB got the 4WD Dakotas. This doesn not apply to the 2WD
models.
Drive Safe,
Joe
