In a message dated 98-06-23 15:24:10 EDT, you write:

<< Far be it for me to question someone who (probably) knows more about this

air and doesn't take anything in, how come NASCAR racers all use cowl
 induction? >>
Excuse me, I did leave a little out! Sorry! The aerodynamic vacuum also sucks
extra air through the front end, but all that air, as shown by some of our
engenious Dakpakers, is immediately heated up while under the hood. My hood
(in the making) will route directly and only to the intake while the Cowl will
be about 2" above the actual cowl and sucking air out from the engine
compartment and not robbing anything from the intake. Now if your only going
130+ and only turning left! Then cowl induction would be continuely moving
air through the compartment and I would have to think that that would stay
fairly cool. But!! Dont draft too much!! Thats when you start to lose your
fresh air and get all the second hand garbage air!!
