O.K...l may have posted this before..but here goes. I run synthetic Mobil 1
10W-30 in my Dak. What turned me on to this oil was my EX-father in law. He
worked for a lignite mining company back in Texas. They have huge turbines
that run to produce the elec. and these things (as you can imagine) pump out a
lot of heat. Well, they switched to Mobil 1 in all their machines and the
temp in the turbines dropped by 30 degrees just from changing the oil. Now l
know there is a big difference in Turbines and our Daks, but it makes sense to
me that every little bit helps. They also found that the components (i.e.
bearings) on all their equipment lasted longer after switching to synthetic.
This is a VERY large company. Some of you in Texas may have heard of Texas
Utilities. Well, if the results were enough to make them decide to spend more
money on the stuff....it is good enough for me.
