Just got off the phone with Jeff again at JBA .

1) What's the deal with needing heat shields and increased engine temps ?

A: Jeff said that although they have no heat shields , that they should
actually reduce temps very slightly , and that unless you are doing rock
climbing in the New Mexico dessert , that you shouldn't have to worry about
melting anything including plug wires . He said that if you opt for the
coated headers , that the temps would be greatly reduced and therefor the
chances of melting anything are next to nothing .

2) What kind of Hardware ?

A: Although the header bolts are NOT stainless , they are a black coated
bolt that is rated as a grade #5 bolt . They also include split-locking
washers to make sure that they don't back out . Even though the washers
aren't supposed to back out , he suggested that they be checked shortly
after runing them for a bit .

The gaskets are called "graphite/wire" gaskets and they get them from
Mr.Gasket . Jeff said that since they switched to these type gaskets a
while back , that they have had very few calls about the gaskets blowing
out .

3) What is the turn around on coating the headers ?

A: The headers are shipped from JBA to a small company in Oklahoma City to
be coated . The turn around on these should be about ten days . If you are
ordering the coating when ou order the headers , they will ship the headers
to be coated , and then the coaters will ship htem to you . The warranty on
the coating is LIFETIME with no pro-rating . So this will cover you a bit
as well .

4) Who shot Kennedy ?

A: the little Leprachaun that follows me to work .

hope this helps
