I have a 97 Dak 4X4, 5.2..got it new in Oct 97. 2 weeks ago I dropped =
it off at the dealership because I noticed some fluid building up on the =
axle on the left side of the rear diff housing. Turns out the axle is =
cracked, and they need to replace the entire rear diff assembly. OH =
BOY! I also wanted them to adjust the emergency brake, he adjusted all =
the brakes, and by the time I got home, there was a small fire (puffs of =
flame) coming from the right rear drum. (I looked around back, through =
the smoke) Seems, my brake seal went out. Hmmm. They replaced the =
brake seal and both pads on the back. they won't replace the rear diff =
asembly until next Tues, the 21st July. (Sorry to wordy.trying to make =
things clear here.)

Has anyone else had an axle crack this quickly? I do go 4 wheelin' in =
the Shannendoah Mts., but the jeep that follows me is OK. Is there =
anything I should be concerned with when i get the truck back. Also, =
what about the brake seal, these things go out that quickly?
