I have a TCI shift kit in mine and installed it myself. Wasn't too hard using
their instructions and a FSM. Took me quite a while but I proceded slowly and
with caution. The main thing you need to do is to keep everything Clean,
Clean, clean. I don't know that I got any gains out of it in performance but
it is supposed to give more reliability and causes less stress on the tranny.
There are several kits out there and I would probably try one of them other
than the TCI as some came with additional springs to change the shift points
that were not in my kit. Some of the others may be able to point you in the
right direction.
