That's true. I guess some people just don't "connect" with
vehicles the way I (and many people on this list I suspect) do.
I'm amazed at the number of people who go through life completely
oblivious to them. You could drive a convoy of HEMI Cudas past
'em and they wouldn't bat an eye. (Well, they might complain
about the "noise".)
Unfortunately, this type of person seems to gravitate toward
beaurocracy and government, and these are the people making the
laws we have to live with. (Case in point: "junker" laws that
would force people to send their beautifully restored classics
to the junkyard.) They won't rest until we're all riding
bicycles.
Your post reminded me of something I saw on the drive home
recently. There's a spot where some RR tracks cross the road,
and its a little bit smoother over on the shoulder than it is
in the lane. I always just drive straight across, but the SUV
ahead of me zoomed over to the right to have a slightly
smoother ride over those mean ol' tracks. I guess they didn't
buy their 4x4 for offroading... :-)
But I digress... :-)
