>Man, that sucks! I would sob for weeks and mourn the loss of my dak if
>that were to happen... I would wair black.... glad you lucked out on

Don't kid yourself, I did cry. When Jason came over to me after the
accident, he asked if I was ok and all I could mutter was, "My truck! My
Baby! Is he ok?" I don't really remember any of that too clearly, but it
felt like someone put a knife through my heart. What is it about the Dakota
that latches on to a person and doesn't let go? I never felt this way about
my '75 Camaro or '81 LeMans. But once I drove the '93, I was hooked. I
only had the '93 for one year and then traded it in for the '95 Sport. Now
I've graduated to the '98. Talk about an addiction.
Funny thing was that when Jason and I first moved in together, he was
worried that his addiction to Trucks and Accessories would get on my nerves.
Boy did he worry for no reason. For example, this past Valentine's Day he
asked "what would you like to do?" I replied, "the Auto Show sounds good.
We can test drive the new Durango on an Off-Road Track". Which is exactly
what we did.
Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to walk into the Parts Department
at the dealership and leave with nothing? I'm sure you do. I think in most
cases, one of the two people are able to talk the other out of buying or
ordering something. NOT WITH US! There is no "talking anyone out of it"
going on here. Then we get home and go, "Damn, why did you let me buy that?"
"Sorry, can't help myself because I wanted it too, and there wasn't anyone
to talk me out of it either."
After spending who knows how much in the last year for "stuff". We are
trying very hard to avoid these places or leave the credit cards at home.
NOT EASY!!!

The R/T is a beautiful and powerful machine, but not quite us. We prefer
the challenge of climbing rocks, mountains, and rivers. Basically to "Drive
where no one has driven before" is our motto. Southern Utah such Moab and
Dead Horse Point have amazing off-road trails that take your breath away.
There's nothing like the feeling you get (combination of excitement, joy and
FEAR) as you're driving up the side of a mountain and manuevering your way
back down again. The Dakota 4x4 loves it and takes on the challenge willingly.
In fact, we're leaving August 1st to go up to Alongonquin Provincial Park
for a week's worth of camping. Our original plan was to find some off-road
areas that need to be challenged, but with my neck and back in this
condition, we'll just take a quiet, peaceful camping trip and "be one with
nature" as they say.
Anyway, off to physio I go. Thanks again guys for all the support and kind
words. It really helped an incredible amount.
Thanks again,
Norah
