I think it is just the nature of a free flowing exhaust. The only way
to get rid of it is to switch to a somewhat more restrictive system,
in my opinion anyway, I might be wrong. The headers will help a
little, they did on mine, but it will not be a cure for it. For what
it's worth I don't notice the popping unless I'm screwing around
downshifting or something. Under normal circumstances I don't really
hear it at all.
