Motor Trend Trucks on TNT had a segment on brakes today. They installed a
BAER system on all four wheels. The system is a complete 4 wheel disk brake
set up that bolts on. They did the install on a cheby, but l saw no reason
why it wouldn't bolt on to a Dak since the cheby had rear drums before.
Anyway, the rotors were drilled and had groves cut in them to reduce heat.
They claim to stop a truck 100' shorter from 100 mph than factory systems.
They did not mention a price, but l doubt they are cheap. Also, calipers were
a 4 piston (2 from each direction) rather than a one piston setup from the
factory. Just wanted to pass the info along.
